If your PC and Phone System (SMDR Port) are close, such as in the same room, you can use one of the following configurations:

The adapters and cables required below come standard with the CallTraQ System.

 
The CallStor IV Secure Call Buffer Unit is equipped with both a standard Serial Port as well as a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. You can use either one to connect the Call Buffer to your PC.

Connection via Serial Port:

The above picture may look complicated, but it is really very simple.
First lets look at the 3 components ( listed above A
-C
)

A
Standard RJ45 Network Patch Cord.between the CallStor IV and the RJ45 Adapter
B
RJ45 Adapter to connect the RJ45 Patch Cord (A) to your SMDR Port. You may need a 25 Pin Male or Female, or a 9 Pin Male or Female to mate with your Phone System SMDR Port.

The correct connector will be determined and sent when you place your order
C

Serial Cable (Standard 9 Pin Male to 9 Pin Female) to connect the PC COM Port to the CallStor IV.


Simply:
 
1.   Plug the serial cable (C) from your PC COM: Port into the CallStor IV.  
2.   Plug the Patch Cable (A) from the CallStor IV into the RJ45 Adapter (B).  
3.   Plug the RJ45 Adapter (B) into the Phone System SMDR Port.  

That's all there is!




Connection via USB Port:

1.   Plug the USB cable (C) from your PC USB Port into the CallStor IV.  
2.   Plug the Patch Cable (A) from the CallStor IV into the RJ45 Adapter (B).  
3.   Plug the RJ45 Adapter (B) into the Phone System SMDR Port.  

That's all there is!
