Serial Data from your phone system can be connected to your PC in 2 ways:
·Direct Cable  
·Secure Call Buffer  


If you DID NOT purchase the Secure Call Buffer, or you are installing an evaluation copy, then you will be using the Direct Cable method as shown below. For this method, a cable is run from your Phone System SMDR Port to your PC's COM Port.

If you DID purchase the Secure Call Buffer, then you will be using the Secure Call Buffer method as shown below. For this method, a cable is run from your Phone System SMDR Port to your Secure Call Buffer (CallStor IV) which is located beside your PC. Then a short cable connects the Secure Call Buffer to your PC's COM Port, or via USB.
